Women's tennis world number one Caroline Wozniacki has made the dreams of several thousand Liverpool fans on Twitter come true after proudly displaying her team colours on court for the first time.
After promising her followers she would don the famous red shirt earlier on Thursday, the Danish pin-up took to the arena with a signed Steven Gerrard No.8 top on for her match with Italy's Flavia Pennetta.
The best wishes of the Kop must have brought her luck, too, because after warming up with her Liverpool kit on she then reeled off 12 games in a row to beat Pennetta 6-2 6-0 to reach the Qatar Ladies' Open semi-finals.
'Got so many comments about the Liverpool jersey and to step out on court with it.. So why not,' she Tweeted on Thursday morning.
Earlier, the playful 20-year-old posted a picture of herself wearing the shirt after announcing to her followers she had received 'a GREAT gift' from a friend.
'I open the gift and what's inside? A Liverpool shirt with Gerrard and number 8 on the back,' she wrote.
'Personally signed for me :) Now I will be looking great next time I go to Anfield for a game :) '
Wozniacki also laid down the gaunlet to Liverpool's players to respond in kind, adding: 'Now I am wearing the Liverpool shirt, would be interesting to see the team wearing my outfit...'
